Welcome
My name is Seamus Callaghan. Let this website be a door into your understanding of existence, at least within the confines of the series that I have written about one of the possible other realities that may or may not exist.
A Rant About Space, Time, and the Multiverse (Call it a Window into my Mind)
The Universe is a strange and wonderful place. It is not, however, truly infinite as far as modern mathematics can tell, this including all spacial dimensions. As far as time goes, it has limitations. For instance, you cannot go back in time by any known means. If you try to go by wormhole, a radiation feedback loop will cause it to close before you can accomplish anything. Also, if you found another way, it would affect causality, and who knows what madness that would cause. However, in the multiverse, neither radiation feedback nor causality is a problem as all, as radiation would flow from one Universe into another without building up, and causality would not be affected because again, we're talking about a completely different universe. On another note, the possibilities in the multiverse are, for all intents and purposes, endless. It has been theorized that alternate universes spring up every time there is more than one possible outcome for a situation. These differences can be as small as a single atom being slightly to the left of the one in the other Universe. This would result in a Universe nearly identical to the first one. On the other hand, the other Universe might have a different value for its governing variables, giving the Universe, for example, much stronger gravity, causing early stars (if there were stars or, for that matter, matter) to rapidly collapse into black holes throughout the Universe. If one were to find a way to locate and connect similar Universes (perhaps one that was younger than the other) with a wormhole, then one would be able to effectively move back in time, though you could not return to the exact time you started at (though if time in the new Universe were greatly accelerated in comparison with ours, then you could go there, stay for a long time, and come back before anyone noticed). Much of the latter part of this series is based on these premises, and all that happens in the series may indeed be happening in parallel Universes, as long as I make the stories scientifically possible (however unlikely they may be).
